Photo TMI 005: Top of the Rock

From outside the Top of the Rock Observatory atop the GE Building – pointed downtown. Times Square is see in the right.

In this shot, I had to use my tripod as a monopod because the security guard wouldn’t let me extend the legs. Dumb. But not that it mattered because there are thick glass panels between the person and the view. In the panels, the reflections were awful, so I had to rest the camera between the small spaces in between each panel and had to use both the monopod, the edge of the glass, and holding my breath to get the camera still enough to capture this. The far edge of my 17-35mm was too fat to fit in between the gaps. Oh and the wind was shaking the shit out of the glass panels.
